Advice on website re-design?

Hello

I have a website selling canvas art and fine art canvas prints. I am considering changing elements of the design and the text on the homepage. Recently, I have been getting a lot of traffic (compared to the site's early days). However, while I know that conversion rates are never going to be high - mine are exceptionally low!

Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what may be putting people off, any barriers to sale...

I understand today's economy isn't the best for what I suppose would be 'luxury' items, but I do know some other people in the same field who seem to be doing quite well with inferior products.

Seems your mouseover code for the images is working backwards. Images should be dark and go to normal image on mouseover. Your page is too wide for a normal size browser window. Text is too large in places when you could get more important content into the top part of browser window where it is the most important.

This is just on the home page. I'm sure all the rest are similar. Coding to an XHTML 1.0 doctype is very strict.
