It seems more and more people are turning to unconventional parking providers like WhyPark these days.

Why? Traditional domain parking (at Sedo.com for instance) results in pages that people now recognise as being link farms so you don't get many clicks (and consequently don't earn much).

And Yahoo-based parking providers including Parked.com have imposed an abitrage ban - which basically means that if your domain has traffic coming from sources other than search engines or direct type in traffic, you will not get paid for clicks.

So, if you have a domain name which is heavily linked or you are driving traffic to it from some cheap PPC campaign - you won't see any revenue from clicks that result from traffic coming from those sources! Bummer.

Enter WhyPark

WhyPark is an unconventional domain name parking service. You pay them a one time fee of $99.95 and they let you host 100 domain names.

Now before you freak out about the cost of the WhyPark parking program you should consider what you get by paying for the service:

  1. The $99.99 for 100 domain names means you pay them $1 per domain name for a lifetime of hosting. There are no hosting renewal fees so this fee is paid only once in your lifetime. Take a moment and think about that. [Domain renewal fees do still apply]
  2. You have to understand that WhyPark is not your usual run of the mill parking provider. Usually, parking services only allow you to add domain names, choose some lame template and put yourself at the mercy of the parking provider in terms of site exposure and how much you get paid for clicks that occur on your parked domain names.
  3. WhyPark provides you with a collection of great templates to choose from. If you have basic CSS and HTML skills, you can create your own templates. There is no limit to what you can do in terms of presentation as you can basically create any look you want for your parked domain pages.
  4. WhyPark also provides user friendly blocks where you can add your own monetization code (Google AdSense, Yahoo Publisher Network, etc.) and tracking scripts (Google Analytics, Stat Counter, etc.) inside your parked templates. So, not only do you have absolute control over what your parked domain names earn, you also have total control over your domain name statistics instead of relying on a traditional parking provider's controlled stat counter.
  5. The killer punch comes from having the option to populate your parked site with high quality articles automatically, which means you increase your SEO score by providing relevant content to your parked domain name visitors. In the eyes of search engines, nothing beats relevant content.
  6. In order to boost your SEO score further, WhyPark also creates an automated Google sitemap for you. WhyPark will generate your sitemap at http://www.yoursitehere.com/google-sitemap.cfm. You can submit this to Google Webmaster Tools and it is very likely Google will index your page in just a few days. By getting your parked page indexed by Google, you increase your chances of getting more natural search engine traffic.
  7. And, in addition to all of the above, you can add custom content to your sites if you want. Creating custom pages is absolutely free once your domain names are parked at WhyPark. By creating custom pages, you can add your own unique articles which is an extra plus for your SEO score. So what you are basically doing is creating a complete website for your domain for the cost of $1 per domain for life! Isn't that cool?

Using WhyPark is incredibly easy. Once you sign up you proceed to your WhyPark domain manager where you add the domain names you wish to park (you will need to set the nameservers for your domains to WhyPark's beforehand though). Once parked, you check whether your articles have been generated. If you wish to add custom pages this is the time to do that as well.

To further boost the traffic to your parked domain names you can do some of the following:

  1. Blog about your newly parked WhyPark domain names. Because your parked pages contain proper content and articles, you will not be penalized by search engines since you are providing relevant content.
  2. Put your parked domain names in your forum signatures. You will not only get more traffic but will also increase your chance of getting your domain names indexed quickly.
  3. Submit your domain names to various search engines. Because WhyPark
  4. Submit articles to various article directories and link back to your WhyPark
  5. provides you with the sitemap feature, you can submit your sitemap to Yahoo and Google. parked domains from your author bio box.

I recommend you head on over to WhyPark and sign up - it's a definite winner.
