How much do you estimate your family dotcom domain name worth?

Hi.
A lot of you have noticed that most dotcom family name domains have already been bought. The lucky owners can use it for instance for email purpose and allot different emails to all members of the family such as "firstname@lastname.com". If the symbolic yearly registration fee of 10$ is maintained they have it for life and can pass it to the next generation. Some dotcom family names are actually being held by domainers and can be bought at a negotiated price too. How much would you be willing to pay for your name that somebody already owns ? Jones or Smith names probably can't even be bought by their owners most likely unless the offer is exorbitant. It has to do with the frequency of the name too. So what do you think your name is worth to you ? If you don't use internet probably zero but if you are reading this then you don't belong to that category. This is intrinsic valuation at its purest.

it's not just the joneses or the smiths who have a problem getting their names. there are family names that go back generations and can be based on where your ancestors lived. my family name for example happens to be a town in europe and they're a tourist and pilgrimage destination. not surprisingly, the .org, .com and a couple of other tlds were bought years ago.
